Teaching Philosophy

The role of the teacher in the classroom is to listen to what students have to say and allow them to take control of their education while constantly questioning them and pushing them to think harder and deeper. A teacher should also facilitate collaboration in the classroom and encourage students to work together in productive and helpful ways. Teachers are responsible for teaching students more than just material. They should be role models for students, teaching them morals, manners, respect, and character. The teacher should guide his or her student rather than tell them outright what to do. Lastly, teachers should take the time to learn about their students past what they are in the classrooms and do what they can to help students out who need it.
